Acceptable Use Policy

KatLink is shared by many customers. These rules keep the service safe, legal and reliable for everyone.

You must not use KatLink to:

  • break any law that applies to you or to us;
  • commit fraud, phishing, scams or identity theft;
  • send spam or bulk unsolicited messages. Outgoing email on port 25 is blocked on our gateways; use your email provider's authenticated submission port instead;
  • attack, scan, probe or disrupt any network or system, including denial-of-service attacks, or attempt to access systems or accounts without permission;
  • create, distribute or control malware or botnets;
  • infringe copyright or other intellectual property rights;
  • create, access or share child sexual abuse material. We have zero tolerance for this and will report it to the authorities;
  • harass, threaten or incite violence against anyone;
  • resell or share access, or connect more devices than your package allows;
  • get around our package limits or security controls, for example by tampering with configurations or abusing vouchers;
  • use the service in a way that seriously degrades it for other customers.

What happens if these rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may:

  • warn you;
  • suspend the affected device configuration or your account;
  • close your account, without a refund for the remaining package;
  • cooperate with law enforcement where the law requires us to.

Reporting abuse

To report abuse coming from a KatLink address, contact us with as much detail as you can, including dates, times (with time zone) and IP addresses.
